KATHMANDU, April 19: A total of 216 industries have expressed their investment commitment worth Rs 180 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year (FY 2022/23).
According to a recent data unveiled by the Department of Industry, investment pledges mostly came from small scale industries registered during this period.

Investment commitment during the period of mid-March to mid-April alone was over Rs 25 billion from 33 industries of domestic and foreign investment with commitments to create 3,612 jobs, the data revealed.
Investment commitments from foreign invested industries during nine months was over Rs 41 billion, according to the Department of Industry.
Meanwhile, over Rs 14.5 billion went abroad since the beginning of the current fiscal year till date.
According to the statistics, over Rs 13 billion has been recommended to be refunded as dividend during this period while the Department recommended to take away abroad Rs 2 billion, USD over 1.2 million, Indian currency Rs 300 million and Euro 7000 as a royalty during the review period.
The Department, during mid-March to mid-April, recommended visas for 166 foreign investors, 45 representatives and 142 dependents.
