KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Nepal has a high potential to produce renewable energy but we are still importing fossil fuel in large scale. This increases expenses and eventually a rise in pollution level. So, to discuss ways to reduce this kind of problem and develop small countries like Nepal, International Scientific and Technical Conference “Future Energy Materials, Technologies And Ecology” was organized at the building of Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC), Kamalpokhari on Wednesday.

During the inauguration program former Minster for Science and Technology and chief guest for the program Ganesh Shah said, “Human beings have replaced organic fuel with fossil fuel but now time has come that we replace it with renewable energy. We can learn from other small countries that have developed because of their fuel management.” 

Speaking at the program, RCSC Director Simakov Stanislav informed that they are discussing about the technological advancement and fuel efficiency for the 21st century. He added, “This conference is the next step in the development of the scientific diplomacy between the two countries.” 

The conference will continue till November 23, where scientists from both the countries will exchange their findings and views about the development of technology. 

The program was inaugurated by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jiba Raj Pokharel. Also in the program, Mitra Kunj President Narendra Pradhan, Russian Ambassador to Nepal Andre Sergeyevich Budnik, former Minster for Science and Technology Ganesh Shah, InTech-Don President Prof Dr Brink Ivan, were present in the program.
