KATHMANDU, Nov. 28: Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Rakam Chemjong said the UCPN-Maoist was itself obstructing the integration of its PLA fighters.

Minister Chemjong informed the National News Agency (RSS), Sunday.[break]

The existing term of the UNMIN is the final one, he said, adding that it would be judicious to conclude peace process within this term.

Minister Chemjong refuted the news that he had said the UNMIN could not be bid adieu before the integration of the Maoist combatants and its term would be extended. He also expressed worries over the dissemination of this news in various media, saying he had not said this to any media.

Stressing that the Maoist fighters would be integrated within the stipulated term of the UNMIN, Minister Chemjong said, adding the Maoist itself was hindering the integration process.

Moreover, he said as the Maoists were dominated with the military thoughts, they were not serious about the integration process.
