The authority has directed all the insurance companies to collect information of the damages caused on human life and physical property by the disasters triggered by the incessant rainfall for four days starting last Thursday. “We have instructed the insurers to collect necessary information as soon as possible. In addition, insurers are asked to settle the claims on priority basis related to the damages on assets, vehicles, agriculture produce and livestocks and engineerings, among others,” said an official of the NIA.
