Rochak Dahal is the frontman of Nepali Indie/folk rock band, Pahenlo Batti Muni. The band is mostly known for their hits such as ‘Bari Lai’ and ‘Lori’. Earlier on May, the band released their debut album, ‘Asthir’.

What is music for you?
The undeniable truth of existence.

What do you want to do with your vocals?
Utter vowels and consonants that make sense.

If you could be any musician for a day, who would it be? Why?
Any musician performing at the first Woodstock Festival. I’d get a glimpse of the flower generation.

What do you do when you are alone at home?
Make sure I have locked the gates properly from inside.

What’s your favorite jam?
Mixed fruit jam.

If you could hang out with any musician, who would it be? Why?
The Beatles. To go on a Magical Mystery Tour.

Any songs you wish you had written?
There are too many to list them here.

Which international band do you want to be a part of?
Pahenlo Batti Muni, 2023 (I wish emoji).

Dream concert to attend?
Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ Tour.

Dream venue to play?
The Royal Albert Hall that is equivalent in Nepal.

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician?
The audience singing along to the songs. It feels surreal every time.

What do you hate the most?
The feeling of endless self-criticism.

A lesson you learned as a musician?
The plan never works out, but planning is absolutely essential.

What do you want to change about the industry?
Improvement of copyright implementations and better music venues.

Any messages to the people who want to rock?
