Industry Minister Bhandari returns home after visiting India

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has returned to Nepal after a five-day visit to India.

 KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has returned to Nepal after a five-day visit to India.


During his visit, Minister Bhandari addressed the BIMSTEC conference on August 7, where he highlighted the need for BIMSTEC to enhance connectivity, investment, and regional trade. He emphasized the importance of ensuring landlocked countries' access to the sea.


Minister Bhandari held meetings with his Indian counterparts, Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, and discussed bilateral interests and strengthened relations.

He also inspected the Consulate General in Kolkata and provided guidance to improve the efficiency of the embassy’s operations.


On August 8, Minister Bhandari, along with his delegation, the Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation, and the Head of the Administration Department, visited the Indian Oil Corporation in Delhi. They reviewed the corporation’s infrastructure and service delivery system.


Additionally, discussions were held regarding the relocation of the aviation fuel depot at the Tribhuvan International Airport and the financial and technical support offered by the Indian side.
