KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Indian Railways will operate a special train to Janakpur for Nepali pilgrims attending the idol consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, scheduled for January 22.
Ranjit Thakur, Chief Administrative Assistant of Nepal Railway, announced that the Indian Railway Company will send a 20-coach train to Janakpur for devotees participating in the consecration ceremony of the idol of Lord Shree Ram.
Why was the train from Janakpur to Ayodhya canceled?
According to Thakur, the train is expected to arrive at Janakpurdham this evening. He also mentioned that fares for the journey to Ayodhya have been set, and ticket booking is now open. 'The fares are Rs 3,000 for AC 2 coach, Rs 2,000 for AC 3 coach, Rs 1,000 for sleeper class, and Rs 500 for general seating. These prices are for a round trip,” he mentioned.
Thakur further stated that the train is scheduled to return to Janakpur on the evening of January 22. He added that this initiative is facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Indian Railways is providing the train service in coordination with the Indian Embassy to ease the journey for the pilgrims."
