Indian rupee remains stable

Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for today, keeping the exchange rate of the Indian rupee stable at Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling per 100 rupees. The central bank also updated the exchange rates of various other foreign currencies in the open market.

KATHMANDU, May 14: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for today, keeping the exchange rate of the Indian rupee stable at Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling per 100 rupees. The central bank also updated the exchange rates of various other foreign currencies in the open market.


According to the updated rates, the buying rate of the US dollar stands at Rs 136.24, while the selling rate is Rs 136.84. Similarly, the euro is being bought at Rs 151.36 and sold at Rs 152.02, and the pound sterling is being bought at Rs 179.95 and sold at Rs 180.74. The Swiss franc is trading at Rs 161.86 for buying and Rs 162.58 for selling.


Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar is being bought at Rs 87.36 and sold at Rs 87.74, the Canadian dollar at Rs 97.39 and Rs 97.82, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 104.43 and Rs 104.89. The Japanese yen is priced at Rs 9.20 for buying and Rs 9.24 for selling per 10 yen, while the Chinese yuan is valued at Rs 18.92 for buying and Rs 19.00 for selling.

In addition, the Saudi riyal is being exchanged at Rs 36.32 for buying and Rs 36.48 for selling, and the Qatari riyal at Rs 37.38 and Rs 37.54, respectively. The Thai baht is priced at Rs 4.10 for buying and Rs 4.12 for selling, the UAE dirham at Rs 37.09 and Rs 37.26, and the Malaysian ringgit at Rs 31.52 and Rs 31.66.


The South Korean won is trading at Rs 9.57 for buying and Rs 9.62 for selling per 100 won, the Swedish krona at Rs 13.98 and Rs 14.05, and the Danish krone at Rs 20.29 and Rs 20.38. Similarly, the Hong Kong dollar is being bought at Rs 17.48 and sold at Rs 17.56. 


The Kuwaiti dinar remains the highest-valued currency in the market, with a buying rate of Rs 442.97 and a selling rate of Rs 444.92. Likewise, the Bahraini dinar is priced at Rs 361.40 for buying and Rs 362.99 for selling, while the Omani riyal is at Rs 353.89 and Rs 355.45, respectively.


Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that exchange rates in the open market may vary depending on the rates set by different commercial banks. The latest exchange rates are available on the official website of the central bank.
