KATHMANDU, May 14: Leaders of various political parties have termed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent state visit to Nepal 'fruitful'.
Speaking in a face-to-face programme organized by the Reporter's Club in the capital today, leaders said the visit had taken the bilateral relations between Nepal and India to a new height.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic) chair Pashupati Shamsher Rana said the visit created an opportunity to harmonize the bilateral relations as some sorts of misunderstandings have been surfaced between Nepal and India.
CPN (UML) secretary Bhim Acharya said the visit from the Head of the Government of India was important in itself while noting it was not the time to review the visit. He added that the success depends on the implementation of the past agreements.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Dr Narayan Khadka commented that the visit seems apparently successful but the crucial issues such as border dispute were not meaningfully discussed. He argued that the visit would be limited to ritual if such issues were not addressed.
Rastriya Janata Party leader Laxman Lal Karna said the visit was largely successful towards maintaining harmony in the bilateral ties. RSS
