KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Indian players dominated the finals of the ongoing Kesha Group ANLTA Nepal Asian 14 and Under Tennis Championship Circuit-2 as they lifted both boys’ and girls’ doubles titles on Wednesday.
In the boys’ doubles final played at the Satdobato Tennis Court, Lalitpur, the pair of Anargha Ganguly and Leston Vaz recorded 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 win over Nepali pair comprising Nishan Shrestha and Aaditya Subedi.
Similarly in the girls’ doubles section, Vaishnavi Adkar and Harsshali Mandavkar overcame the pair of Abhilasha Bista (Nepal) and Ilina Jha (India) in the straight sets of 6-3, 6-4.
Disappointing day for Nepali players in junior tennis
The boys’ singles is set to be all-India final as the boys’ double winners Anargha Ganguly and Leston Vaz are going to face each other for their second title.
In the first semifinal of boys’ singles, Anargha defeated his countryman Sivasamy Ramalingam Nathin Ram 6-0, 6-1.
Likewise in second last four clash Leston record 7-5, 6-1 victory over Nepal’s Aaditya Subedi.
Similarly India’s Vaishnavi Adkar reached the girls’ singles final beating Harsshali Mandavkar (India) 6-0, 6-3.
She will face the winner between Prachi Mantri (India) and Abhilasha Bista (Nepal) and in the title clash on Thursday.
Likewise, Abhilasha defeated her colleague Sneha Yadav 6-1, 6-1 on Thursday, and secured her berth in last four.
Prachi had booked her place in the semifinal on Tuesday.
