Indian ‘dam road’ inundated Nepali villages (with photos)

BANKE, June 23: The ‘dam road’ constructed by India has blocked the water flow and inundated the most of the villages of the Narainapur Rural Municipality of the district.

BANKE, June 23: The ‘dam road’ constructed by India has blocked the water flow and inundated the most of the villages of the Narainapur Rural Municipality of the district. Narainapur is adjacent rural municipality to the Indian border.


The water flowing from the north has been blocked by the dam and the water has flooded villages including Baniya, Mahataniyan, Majherati, Miya Poorva, Mahadev Nagar, Kotihawa, Bahavpoorva, Roshan Poorva among others.

The locals have been compelled to flee from their villages. As many as 100 houses are under the water and as many as 12 houses have been flattened by the flood water, according to chairman Ishtiyak Ahmad Shah of the municipality.
