Indian Army Chief inspects joint military exercise

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Indian Army Chief, Dalbir Singh, observed 'Surya Kiran', the joint exercise being carried out by the Nepalese Army and the Indian Army at saljhandi in Rupandehi district today.

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Indian Army Chief, Dalbir Singh, observed 'Surya Kiran', the joint exercise being carried out by the Nepalese Army and the Indian Army at saljhandi in Rupandehi district today. 



The Indian Army chief is currently on a visit to Nepal at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri. Singh is also the Honorary General of the Nepalese Army. 



Also present in the inspection visit were the CoAS Chhetri and the top brass of the Nepalese Army and officers. 



In course of the inspection visit, the Indian Army chief was given a presentation on the joint exercise. General Singh inspected the different activities performed at the venue of the joint exercise as well as the demonstration presented by the exercise team, the Nepalese Army stated in a press release. 



Shree Jabbar Jung Battalion of the Nepalese Army and the Number 3 Kumaon Rifle Battalion of the Indian Army are participating in the joint exercise. The Indian Army Chief returned to Kathmandu today itself from Saljhandi. 



Also today, the Indian Army Chief paid separate courtesy calls on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Defence Minister Balkrishna Khand. RSS
