India gifts ambulances, buses

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Thursday donated 20 ambulances and four buses to various organizations in Nepal to mark the 63rd Republic Day of India.



Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad gave away 16 ambulances and four buses to recipient organizations from various 16 districts amidst a public function at the embassy premises in Kathmandu. [break]



The remaining four other ambulances were gifted by Consul General of India at Birgunj.



According a press statement issued by Indian embassy, the envoy also handed over 200 wheel barrows to the Ministry of Local Development for use in various municipalities.



Indian government has gifted 342 ambulances to various organizations across Nepal since 1994.
