KATHMANDU, Jan 25: An adventure park featuring a new bungee jump has recently commenced operations in Kerala, India, under the guidance of The Cliff Nepal, known for transforming Baglung-Kushma into an adventure haven. This marks the first international venture for Cliff in the setup and management of bungee jumping facilities.

Raju Karki, chairman of The Cliff, mentioned that a professional team, including himself and Bungee Crew Trainer Prakash Pradhan, is overseeing the project. Pradhan is recognized as the first Nepali bungee master.

Karki explained that The Cliff would provide technical manpower for the bungee jump setup and other adventure activities such as Skywalk, Swing (Ping), and Superman Swing, all developed by Wayanad Company in Kerala. "We have agreed to manage the setup and operation of these activities," stated Chairman Karki. He also mentioned that the collaboration with Cliff includes employing trainer-level staff for the bungee operation.

In the initial phase, the adventure park, which involved an investment of approximately 40 million Indian rupees, will operate the bungee using a crane. This 80-meter-high attraction is named 'Crane Bungee'. A subsequent structure is planned, elevating the bungee height to 160 meters in the second phase. "Upon completion of the under-construction bungee, it will be the tallest in India," Chairman Karki affirmed. Similarly, The Cliff is planning to launch bungee operations at three more locations in Kerala.

The inspiration for this venture came when a Kerala pilgrim visiting the Muktinath temple saw The Cliff’s bungee setup on the mountain and at the Baglung border, sparking interest among local businessmen. Following this, The Cliff's team conducted a feasibility study in Kerala upon the request of these local entrepreneurs.

"With plans to expand The Cliff's footprint not just in Nepal but internationally, we are proud to embrace this opportunity offered by Indian investors," Chairman Karki said. "Our expansion into India is a significant achievement for our country."
