KATHMANDU, Jan 13: As Maghe Sankranti is just two days away, a large number of people are seen thronging to vegetable markets in Kathmandu Valley to buy yams, potatoes, Sakharkhand and other goods in vegetable markets.
Maghe Sankranti is celebrated on the first day of the month of Magh. On the day of Sankranti, it is customary to eat ghee, Chaku, sesame dishes, yam, spinach, and khichdi.
On the day of Maghe Sankranti, these dishes are served as a warming dish that provides warmth in winter. There is a religious belief that Tridosh will be destroyed by this food.
