KATHMANDU, May 11: India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his two day state visit to Npeal from Janakpur today. After spending more than two hours in Janakpur, Modi arrived in Kathmandu where he was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.
Modi is scheduled to leave for Mustang on Saturday morning to pay homage to Muktinath where he will offer special puja.
To ease the visiting Prime Minister’s travel, five helipads and a mini ICU has been set up, according to Sishir Paudel, chief district officer of Mustang. He added that all preparations had been completed to welcome Modi.
Under the leadership of chairperson of Mustang, representatives from political parties and local governments will welcome Modi.
Citing security reasons, the district has closed the temple and its periphery from 4 am today to 12 pm tomorrow. Likewise, to ease tourists and their movements, a foot trail has been opened via Chong, Chongu, Kagbeni and Jomsom.
