In Pictures: Celebrating 10th Nepali Topi Diwas

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: The 10th Nepali Topi Diwas or the Nepali Cap Day is being celebrated today with gusto. The slogan of this year's Cap Day is 'Nepali Topi: Nepali Identity'.

Youths donning Daura Suruwal and Dhaka Topi stressed the need for protecting the national dress, demanding recognition of Dhaka topi as national identity. People have requested the government to declare the Dhaka cap and Bhadgaon cap as the national identity.

Since Nepal is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country, there are many ethnic varieties of the Nepali cap. This has made people to request the government to pay attention to the protection and promotion of traditional caps.
