KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Human Right and Peace Society staged a protest against Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar on Monday afternoon.
Following the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by the Oli-led government, protests and demonstrations have erupted opposing the government’s move across the country.
The government has announced midterm elections on April 30 and May 10.
PM Oli’s faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been backing the house dissolution while a rival faction within NCP led by Puspha Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal has been demanding the restoration of the House.
Police intervened the demonstrators. Twenty-six human rights activists including Krishna Pahadi were arrested during the protest demonstration.
Meanwhile, the case of house dissolution is sub judice at the apex court.
