KATHMANDU, Oct 25: CPN-UML lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari has said that the impeachment motion tabled in the Parliament is not the issue of the opposition or the ruling party alone, rather it is the issue of the entire Nepali people.
Speaking over the impeachment motion against suspended CIAA chief Lokman Singh Karki on Tuesday, lawmaker Adhikari said that Karki has tried to breach the democratic norms and values by disobeying the judiciary.
To put the democratic norms and values in place and make the country a corruption free, the lawmakers should stand united for the impeachment motion against Karki, Adhikari said.
"We have only two options before us - either we should be a mute spectator on the anomalies and corruption taking place or control them. If we are for the latter, there is no option to stading for the impeachment motion agaist Karki," Adhikari said.
