KATHMANDU, Nov 30: CPN-UML leader Dr Bhim Rawal, who is vying for the chairmanship of the party with KP Sharma Oli, said that he will accept the election results but he will not be a central member. After casting his vote at the UML's 10th General Convention in Chitwan on Tuesday morning, Rawal announced that he will not be in the Central Committee if he loses the election.
Rawal's name was included in the list of 301 members made public by Chairperson Oli at midnight on Monday, calling for a consensus. Rawal said despite his name being on the electronic voting machine, he has not given any candidacy for it.
The candidates for UML office-bearers are automatically nominated as candidates for the Central Committee. Rawal clarified that he had only filled the form for the post of chairperson. He said that he would continue to work in the interest of the country, the people and democracy. The voting, which started at 4AM today, is still going on.
