KATHMANDU, March 22: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that he will act impartially and neutrally to run the lower house of parliament effectively.
Speaking to media persons earlier on Monday, Speaker Sapkota said that he does not have any intention to block the ordinance tabled by the government. “I don’t want to block the businesses proposed by the government. I don’t have that intention either,” he said, adding that he has been holding dialogues with the political parties represented in the House. “I’ll remain impartial and neutral.”
Sapkota also said that he will also discuss with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in this connection. “I have asked him [PM Oli] to allocate time for a discussion with me,” he said.
Sapkota said that he asked for Oli’s time during his short meeting with Oli at the Tribhuwan International Airport on Monday morning. They reached there to see off President Bidya Devi Bhandari who flew to Bangladesh for a two-day visit.
PM Oli has been expressing his strong differences toward the working style of Speaker Sapkota. Oli blamed him for failing to carry out impartial roles.
