KATHMANDU, March 17: Vice-presidential candidate Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has said that after winning the vice-presidential position, he will emphasize the protection of the constitution and the promotion of national unity. He said this while talking to the media after voting in the vice presidential election on Friday. He said that he would give the first priority to complying with the constitution. He said that he will play his role in developing Nepal as a prosperous country.

He said, "I am the unanimous candidate on behalf of the coalition." Now we have full confidence that all the members of the alliance will vote for me. The Constitution mentions the duties of the President/Vice President. I will promote national unity, protect the constitution. My priority will be to follow the constitution. My role will be to develop Nepal as an equal and prosperous country. I will work honestly in favor of the people.”

Yadav, the vice-presidential candidate, claimed that he was the unanimous candidate of the ruling coalition. Mamta Jha of the Janmat Party is also a candidate for the post of Vice President from the 10-party alliance.
