KAPILVASTU, May 4: Police have arrested a hunter with six rounds of bullets on the charge of killing two blue bulls in a sugarcane field at Sano Buthaniya, of Maharajgunj Municipality-6, Kapilvastu.
Locals reported the sound of gunfire around midnight on Sunday, prompting police to investigate. Based on this, police arrested 52-year-old Farhan Khan of Harouhwa, Shivaraj Municipality-2, along with bullets.

The blue bull is listed as a protected wild animal. A group of hunters had arrived at the sugarcane field in a vehicle with license plate Ba 17 Cha 890 (Hilux), a pickup truck with UP 55 R 6176, a motorcycle with Lu 50 Pa 412, and another Indian motorcycle.
From Khan’s bag, police recovered six bullets, four casings, a knife, and other items.
The dead blue bulls, the vehicles used in the hunt, bullets, and other seized items have been handed over to the Gautam Buddha Division Forest Office, Chandrapur. The investigation is being led by Assistant Forest Officer Pehalman Serbuja Magar. The hunter had killed two male blue bulls.
