Hult Prize at Tribhuvan University

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Tribhuvan University, School of Management is to host ‘Hult Prize’ where students and young entrepreneurs tackle the United Nations ‘For Us by Us: The Global Youth Unemployment’ Challenge.

The Hult Prize is a start-up accelerator for social entrepreneurship that brings together university students from around the globe to solve various ongoing global problems. It aims to launch a start-up enterprise that can radically change the world and breed the next generation of social entrepreneurs.

As per a press statement, Ahmad Ashkar, CEO and Founder of the Hult Prize, attributes the success of the competition to the shift in global economy and the millennial generation’s refusal to live in a world with inequality. “We are giving entrepreneurs from around the world a platform to innovate and revolutionize the way we think about servicing the disadvantaged,” Ashkar stated.

The past few decades have shown us a vast utilization of the principles under four categories of employment opportunities - learning, matching, sourcing and creating. This event aims to develop the inner capabilities of the students and transform them into the change-makers solving problems.

The Hult Prize regional competition will take place on March 2019 in 25 different locations. Meanwhile, the final round of the competition will take place on September 2019, where one winning team will be selected as the winner and will also be awarded the cash prize of US$ 1,000,000.
