Royal Club: The Perks of Flying with Buddha Air

The act of flying frequently can be mundane. The process of checking-in/checking-out, boarding and getting out of airplanes, when done one too many times, could pass as cumbersome. In order to make the process rewarding, Nepal’s leading airlines company, Buddha Air offers what is called the Royal Club: Frequent Flyer Program. Becoming a Royal Club member makes flying fun again.

Royal Club Membership

As a first-time flyer with Buddha Air, a client is instantaneously eligible for Gold membership. Upon filling out a membership form—available at any Buddha Air’airport counter—a flyer can become a gold member and receive mileage points for every flight completed. The mileage points, which accumulates in the member’s account, lets one board free flights, avail concessions at Resorts and Hotels, board with extra baggage, receive cash vouchers and discounts in more than 80 sales outlets around the country.

A member accumulates enough mileage points ( as per mileage chart )to be awarded a free flight after completing  Buddha Air flights in the Y, A or B class. Also, preferential service including 5 Kg extra luggage allowance is given to all members. Not only that, mileage points collected by members can be exchanged with cash vouchers, which can be used to shop at Reebok, Labels Store, Lee, Rockport and Clothing Chamber in Durbar Marg;

As a card holder, flyers also get discounts in purchases made in more than 80 establishments —shops, departments stores, restaurants, health club, hotels and other outlets—around the country.

Information on mileage points and membership status can be obtained through the Buddha Air offices, from buddhaair.com (Royal Club member section) or by simply accessing the Buddha Air mobile app.

Also, an added privilege insures that free flights can be transferred to immediate family members. A member should ensure that the family member’s name is listed on the membership application form.

Platinum Membership and its Perks

Platinum membership is the icing on the Royal Club cake. When a member’s account accumulates more than 7,500 mileage points, she or he is  eligible for an upgrade to Platinum and also receives a new card with new benefits, with all prior benefits retained.

For each flight boarded, a Platinum member receives 10 per cent more mileage points than a Gold member. This means that a free flight ticket will be available approximately after just 8 flights!

 Not only that, the Part Miles + Part Cash offer will now let a member purchase a ticket for half the price as soon as a member has 50 per cent of mileage points already accumulated for a free ticket.

Platinum members will not have to pay much heed to luggage limits, as they will be entitled to 10 kg more than regular allowance. Also gone will be the days of long waits in queues to board as Buddha Air reserves two seats for Platinum members on each sector. Seats can be reserved just 24 hours prior to takeoff.

And one of the most useful privileges of being a Platinum member is that a flyer can make ticket cancellations without having to pay a cancellation fee. Otherwise, cancellations within 24 hours of flight cost 10 per cent and ones done on the same day cost 33 per cent of the ticket cost. Buddha Air considers a Platinum member’s schedule to be of top priority and that service should never be compromised.

With all the benefits that Royal Club entails, there seem to be no reasons for not hopping into the bandwagon and becoming a member too. The journey from Gold to a Platinum member promises a lot of fun along with an assortment of privileges.
