House committee endorses Nepal Police and Province Police Amendment Bill

KATHMANDU, JULY 8: The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives has passed a bill to amend the Nepal Police and Province Police Operation, Supervision and Coordination Act, 2076 BS.

A meeting of the committee held in Singha Durbar on Thursday passed a bill to amend the Nepal Police and Province Police Operation, Supervision and Coordination Act, 2076 BS.

The bill to amend the Nepal Police and Province Police Operation, Supervision and Coordination Act, 2076 BS was amended in five sections. There was an immigration offense in Article 2 of Nepal Police's investigation.

Secretary of the committee Babita Mishra said that the bill was passed because the work of immigration should be done by Nepal Police. She said that the bill was passed by the Nepal Police in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts ensuring the work, duties and powers of the province police and the misconduct of the province police will be investigated.

Committee Secretary Mishra said that coordination would be made with the provincial police to carry out the work to be carried out by the Nepal Police on the police offices under the Nepal Police in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.
