POKHARA, Feb 5: The Pokhara chapter of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has urged the Embassy of China in Kathmandu to take initiative to include Nepal in its tourist destination list.

In a request letter sent to the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, the HAN’s Chairman Laxman Subedi stated that tourism entrepreneurs are ready and hopeful to welcome Chinese tourists in Nepal in 2023.

In the letter, Subedi has stated that the HAN is saddened to learn that Nepal was not included in the Chinese government’s tourist destination list.

After a gap of three years after the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of China released the names of 20 countries as the tourist destinations for its citizens.

In the letter written to the Embassy, the HAN has asked the Chinese side to rethink its decision and include Nepal in the list of tourist destination countries.

Subedi said that the Chinese Ambassador has responded positively to the letter of the Association.
