KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Host Bangladesh and India on Tuesday entered the semifinals from Group A in the Third SAFF U-16 Championship being held in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh and India's semifinal entry was confirmed after Sri Lanka lost second match in a row in group A that comprises three teams. On Tuesday, Bangladesh overcame Sri Lanka 4-0. Earlier, India had thrashed Sri Lanka 5-0 in the opener on Sunday.
Bangladesh reaches SAFF U-18 semifinals after India stalemate
The group winner will be decided after the outcome of match to be played between India and Bangladesh on Thursday. Meanwhile, Afghanistan will take on Maldives on Wednesday in Group B match.
If Afghanistan wins the match, then Afghanistan and Nepal will secure their semifinal spot as Nepal beat Maldives by 5-0 on Monday.
