RPP boycotts House meeting, RSP protests continue

Similarly, there is also an agenda to pass the 'Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill, 2082,' said Padam Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Likewise, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to brief the House about his visit to Spain in today's meeting. Prime Minister Oli is leaving for Spain today, leading a Nepali delegation to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development this evening.
Meanwhile, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have been protesting and boycotting parliament meetings for an extended period, demanding the resignation of Minister for Home Ramesh Lekhak, alleging his involvement, and calling for a fair high-level committee to investigate the visa scam.
The government has formed a high-level probe committee to investigate the visit visa scam, chaired by former Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, comprising joint secretaries from six ministries.
However, RSP and RPP have expressed dissatisfaction with the committee, citing that the committee can't investigate the case as the government appoints bureaucratic members who favor it. The RSP said it will continue protesting till the government forms a high-level inquiry committee or judicial commission. The RPP has demanded an investigation into 14 ministers appointed over the past 18 years in connection with this matter.
