KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that honoring artists will enhance the dignity and image of the nation.
While inaugurating the painting and sculpture exhibition titled 'Gathbandhan' organized by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts in Naxal today, PM Dahal said, "You have played an important role in establishing Nepal in the field of fine arts. The role played by you to establish not only within the country, but worldwide is commendable.”
PM Dahal said that when he became the Prime Minister for the first time, he laid the foundation for the establishment of the academy and said that he felt happy and proud of the Academy.
"I am very happy to honor such a personality who has made a notable contribution to the field of painting and sculptures; it increases the dignity and height of the nation," he said. On the occasion, the PM honored the artists who have made significant contributions to the field of fine arts.
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: CPN (Maoist Center) leader and former minister Padam Rai passed away on Saturday at Bir Hospital, Kathmandu, while undergoing treatment for Parkinson's disease. He was 57.
