KATHMANDU, April 6: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued directives to all its subordinate offices including police to initiate action against private vehicles carrying passengers for random fare.
The Ministry issued this directive through a circular to all the District Administration Offices on Wednesday.
Reluctance to implement adjusted transport fares
This comes after the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) urged the Home Ministry to take action against the private vehicles carrying passengers charging them random fares.
The FNNTE on Tuesday urged the Ministry to issue directives to the bodies concerned to take action against such vehicles as they were allegedly freely carrying passengers throughout the country for fares determined arbitrarily.
