KATHMANDU, June 10: Rastriya Janamorcha lawmaker Durga Poudel has alleged that the Ministry of Home Affairs had been unable to control theft, smuggling and black marketeering.
Speaking at a parliament meeting on Friday, lawmaker Poudel said that the incidents of murder, violence, looting and rape were on the rise. She also said that the Home Ministry had failed to control crimes related to theft, smuggling and black marketeering.

Similarly, CPN-UML lawmaker Deepak Prasad Bhatta said that Nepal’s presence in international forums was getting weaker in recent years. He noted that Nepal's presence in bilateral, regional, sub-regional and international forums was weakening and that the government needed to do something concrete in this regard.
Bhatta also said that the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Home Affairs should coordinate with the National Security Council, which he said had been rendered as a dumping site.
Bhatta also said that the NSC has not been mentioned anywhere in the budget of the upcoming fiscal year.
