KATHMANDU, May 4:  Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has directed concerned authorities to arrest the office bearers of the transport committees for disrupting vehicular movements.  

Issuing a circulation to district administration offices, Home Minister Thapa directed to take stringent action against them for halting vehicular services as per the Essential Services Operation Act, 2014 BS.

The Home Ministry said that the concerned district administration offices will deploy security personnel in various places to arrest the office bearers of the transport committees.

Earlier, the government had issued an ordinance to prohibit strikes on the essential services.
