Home ministry directs all not to take keys of govt vehicles on public holidays

KATHMANDU, July 21: The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that its attention has been drawn toward the incidents of government vehicles being stopped and keys being taken away in the name of various groups for driving government vehicles on public holidays.

KATHMANDU, July 21: The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that its attention has been drawn toward the incidents of government vehicles being stopped and keys being taken away in the name of various groups for driving government vehicles on public holidays.


The ministry issued a statement and said that it has attracted attention because government vehicles are being stopped and keys being taken away in the name of various groups.

The release states, "As such activities are taking place, essential vehicles such as flagged vehicles, vehicles used by security agencies, ambulances, fire engines, etc., do not require a vehicle pass to drive on public holidays, so please make the necessary arrangements accordingly and let the general public be informed about it. If you have to drive even during the day, it is requested that you strictly implement the mandatory vehicle pass system.”
