KATHMANDU, May 4: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has said that no guilty person should be acquitted in the case of frauding Nepalis in the pretext of sending them to the USA as fake Bhutanese refugees.
He said that he has instructed the police administration not to let go of the culprit, no matter how powerful or influential they are.
Guilty pleasure
"I have also told them to be aware that innocent people should not suffer in the name of investigation," said Minister Shrestha. He added that the security agencies are working carefully in this case.
On Wednesday, the police arrested Tek Narayan Pandey, the secretary of the Vice President's office, to investigate the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, while District Court Kathmandu issued an arrest warrant against CPN-UML Secretary and MP Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and his son Sandeep Rayamajhi.
An arrest warrant has also been issued against Pratik Thapa, son of former home minister and CPN-UML leader Ram Bahadur Thapa.
