Home minister, law minister meet Maoist Center chair Dahal over citizenship bill

KATHMANDU, May 19: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Govinda Prasad Sharma Koirala, held a meeting with the chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Center) and former prime minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' regarding the citizenship bill.

KATHMANDU, May 19: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Govinda Prasad Sharma Koirala, held a meeting with the chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Center) and former prime minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' regarding the citizenship bill. 


During the meeting held at Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar of Lalitpur this morning, they discussed contemporary political issues, operation of federal parliament and different bills going to be presented by the government in parliament, according to Home Minister Khand's Secretariat.

Discussions were also held on the matter of tabling the citizenship bill with the consensus of the political parties in the ongoing session of the House of Representatives. 


Earlier, Home Minister Khand also held discussions with political parties time and again regarding the citizenship bill. The government has been preparing to table the citizenship bill at political parties' consensus. 


Home Minister Khand and Law Minister Sharma held a meeting with Chair Dahal to forge consensus on the issue.
