BUTWAL, March 9: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand has asked his party cadres to make people clear about the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant agreement as there are various rumors spread against grant agreement.

While arguing that the MCC grant agreement is in the best interest of Nepal and Nepali people, Minister Khand, who is also an influential Nepali Congress(NC) leader, asked his party cadres to help remove all the controversies surrounding the MCC grant agreement.

Addressing a program organized to handover the GP Koirala Memorial Journalism Prize in Manigram of Rupandehi district on Tuesday, Minister Khand said voters should be informed to reduce the possible loss that could happen because of the controversies surrounding the MCC grant agreement and its ratification due to active initiation of the NC.  He argued that NC was always in favor of the MCC grant agreement regardless of its stay in power or in the opposition.

Minister Khand accused leaders of other political parties of spreading false information about the MCC grant agreement. He also urged media persons to reveal the facts and truth relating to the MCC so that voters are not misled by them.

Minister Khand also argued that the interpretative declaration ratified along with the MCC grant agreement addresses all the confusions that people have about the MCC grant agreement. He said that NC's victory in the upcoming poll is a must to safeguard democracy and civil liberties and press freedom.

On Tuesday itself, Minister Khand addressed the 63rd anniversary of Shanti Namuna Secondary School at Manigram in Tilottama Municipality. On the occasion, he also inaugurated school buildings and HM Lab.
