KATHMANDU, June 15 : Himalaya Airlines is set to operate evacuation flights from seven different countries starting Tuesday.
The airlines in a press statement on Monday said that permission and authorization has been received to bring back Nepalis, who are stranded in different countries due to COVID-19 pandemic. In line with the government’s decision to evacuate Nepalis who are stranded abroad, the government had allowed two Nepali international flights operators to start the charter flights.
Himalaya Airlines to operate Pokhara-Lhasa flights
The airlines will operate 11 flights to destinations like Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates between June 16 and June 20.
The airlines has fixed US dollar 380 as airfare for flights from Sri Lanka and Maldives, $165 for Bangladesh and $520 for Singapore and Cambodia. Similarly, the airfare for Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and UAE has been set $372, $465, and $385, respectively.
Meanwhile, the airfare for the flight the airlines is scheduled to operate from Maldives on June 19 has been set $480. However, the charter flights will be operated only if the aircraft has 85 percent occupancy. Flight schedules can be changed or can be cancelled, depending upon the passenger bookings or other adverse factors, according to the airlines.
All the passengers are required to present proof that their PCR or RDT test is negative at the time of booking. As per the rule enforced by the government, it is mandatory for passengers to stay in quarantine upon arrival to Nepal.
