KATHMANDU, June 23: Helicopter companies have been provided five more days to relocate to a new operating base for night-stop.

Teknath Sitaula, spokesperson for the Tribhuvan International Airport, said that the helicopter companies demanded four days to prepare the operating base infrastructure at the regional airports as per the directives of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

He said that after the talks held on Wednesday afternoon, the helicopter companies demanded time till June 27 to resume flights from the regional airport designated by CAAN on the basis of operating base.

CAAN had decided to make the airline companies’ first flight from the same airport after being parked at night at the airport on the basis of the operating base assigned to the helicopter company from June 22 and for aircraft operators from June 27.
