POKHARA, Mustang, Dec 12: Mountainous districts Manang and Mustang have witnessed heavy snowfall on Friday.
The temperature has fallen as low as a minus, forcing people to be confined to their houses.
According to DSP Tika Bhadur of Manang the district headquarters and surrounding areas have witnessed huge snowfall. "Tourists are also not allowed to trek to Thorang La Pass and Tilocho areas," he said. The local roads to Manang have been covered by snow thereby disrupting vehicular movement.

The local administration has also issued a notice to the locals to stay safe.
The district headquarters of Mustang and surrounding areas started witnessing snowfall since Thursday. The bad weather has affected people's daily life.
According to the conservation officer associated with the Annapurna Conservation Area in Jomsom, Tulsi Dahal, the temperature in Jomsom has fallen as low as minus two. "The upper Mustang has also witnessed thick layers of snow frozen," he said.
According to Jomsom Air Traffic Controller Ganesh Dumre, the Pokhara-Jomsom and other flights to Jomsom canceled today due to heavy snowfall and bad weather.
The chief district officer of Mustang Bed Prasad Aryal informed that the police are well aware of the consequences of the heavy snowfall and have mobilized rescue teams in case of emergencies.
