Heavy rain destroys Bagmati river diversion, blocks Kanti Lokpath between Hetauda and Kathmandu

Heavy rainfall last night washed away the diversion structure on the Bagmati River, blocking the Kanti Lok Path that connects Hetauda and Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, May 19: Heavy rainfall last night washed away the diversion structure on the Bagmati River, blocking the Kanti Lok Path that connects Hetauda and Kathmandu.


The Makwanpur District Police Office reported the road closure after the diversion, located at the border between Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8 of Makwanpur and Bagmati Rural Municipality-2 of Lalitpur, was destroyed. This diversion served as a key route for vehicles traveling between the two districts.

Following the destruction, police confirmed that vehicular movement on the road was stopped.


Police teams have arrived at the site and are actively working to reopen the blocked road.
