KATHMANDU, July 20: Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center has stopped cardiac surgery services due to the lack of an oxygenator. According to the hospital administration, 45 patients who were admitted to the hospital have returned home after the service was stopped.

An oxygenator machine removes carbon dioxide from the blood and adds oxygen during heart surgery. During heart surgery, the work of the heart and lungs should be performed artificially with the help of equipment.
