Hearing on IGP promotion case today, final verdict expected

KATHMANDU, July 11: The hearing on the writ petition filed against the government's decision to promote Dhiraj Pratap Singh to the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) is taking place today.

A reply debate is going to take place today on behalf of the writ petitioner. The final verdict in the case is expected today.

A final hearing is being held in the bench of Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Kumar Chudal.

AIG Bishwaraj Pokharel had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court alleging that his junior was promoted to the post of IGP by violating the existing laws.
