Hearing on case against Sharma on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, July 18: The hearing on a writ petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding release of suspended Director-General of Inland Revenue Department, Chudamani Sharma, from jail has been put for continuation for tomorrow. 

The apex court has kept continuing the hearing on the case related to habeas corpus for Wednesday. 

According to the SC Spokesperson Biswo Raj Poudel, the apex court decided to continue hearing on the case tomorrow after it remained incomplete today. 

A divisional bench of Justice duo -- Cholendra Shumsher Rana and Prakash Man Singh Raut is entrusted with the responsibility to issue verdict on the case. 

Sharma's spouse Kalpana Uprety had registered a writ petition at the apex court naming special court as defendant on July 11. In a writ petition, she demanded the release of her husband from detention claiming it unlawful. 

Sharma has been kept under bar after the special court issued order to remand him for investigation. RSS
