LUMBINI, Dec 25: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that amazing achievements have been made in the health sector due to development of science and technology.
Inaugurating the ninth Annual General Assembly cum third General Convention of Gautam Buddha Community Health Institution and ninth Establishment Day of Gautam Buddha Heart Hospital in Butwal today, Minister Khand shared that people are compelled to receive treatment in private hospitals even after spending their all properties to extend life expectancy.
Home Minister Khand further said that it was necessary to utilize the means, resources, property, and knowledge of people for the development of society and the country as the government alone could not fulfill the multifaceted responsibilities for the country's modernization as desired by people.

Stating that Butwal has its own history, Home Minister Khand shared that it does not make any difference in the development of Butwal even if it is not the capital of Lumbini Province. He expressed commitment that he would take initiative to provide land for Gautam Buddha Community Hospital proposed to be established at Tilottama Municipality.
Lumbini Province Assembly member Bhoj Prasad Shrestha said that it was the main responsibility of all people's representatives to accelerate the pace of the country's development.
Another Lumbini province assembly member Bishnu Panthi asked the government to revise some rules, regulations and work procedure as some of the government rules, regulations and work procedure have proved to be obstacles to development.
Hospital Chairperson Azaj Alam urged the Home Minister to provide the land as soon as possible for the construction of an 800-bed state of the art facility hospital.
