KATHMANDU, May 4: The Ministry of Health and Population has warned of action against health institutions which are fleecing service seekers.
Municipalities without facilities
Those conducting health services against the rule will be booked, the ministry said in a notice. Issuing the notice, Undersecretary at the ministry, Ekdev Khanal, warned that the ministry will take action against the health facilities which have failed to meet the required criteria and have not taken permission on the basis of complaints lodged by the service seekers.
"Rule 12 (2) of the Public Health Regulation, 2077 BS will be invoked to take punitive measures against the health facilities if they are run without taking permission. Whether they are run privately or based on charity, they must not operate beyond the rule," Khanal reminded, adding that some health facilities such as autism therapy centers, child clinics were reported to be running illegally.
