KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Newly appointed Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Gautam has called on political forces and all not to engage in activities that could obstruct the upcoming elections.
Her remarks came after she visited the injured individuals of the recent ‘Gen-Z’ movement who are undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Kathmandu on Monday.
I will lead the district to prosperity: Sanjay Gautam
After observing the condition of a seriously injured protester at TUTH, Gautam became emotional and urged all sides not to resort to protests aimed at destabilizing the election process. “I found it very difficult when I saw the condition of the patients. I want to tell the country not to go on a protest,” she said, adding, “I would like to request everyone who opposes the government and tries to disrupt the election not to do that.”
She stated that the government is currently focused on conducting the elections and there is no need to continue street opposition at this time.
According to Gautam, the injured also drew her attention to hospital mismanagement and operational issues. She pledged to address those concerns, saying she would make her efforts and achievements visible to the public. “We must work together to end malpractices and injustice. I will transparently show what has been done and what has changed,” she said.
