Ongoing Handicrafts Business Fair attracts large number of visitors

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The ongoing 17th Handicraft Business Fair and 15th handicraft competition at Bhrikutimandap in the capital have attracted a large number of visitors. 

Till Saturday, the third day of Fair, more than 100,000 visitors have visited the fair, according to the organizer. The fair has been organized to promote Nepali Handicraft. Handicrafts ranging from one hundred rupees to 1.5 million rupees are available in the exhibition, the organizer said. 

Vice president of Nepal Handicraft commission Rabindra Shaky said: "Around 300,000 visitors are expected to come here." He also said that the total transaction of the fair is expected to be higher than 100 million. 

The business persons from Nepal and other countries have participated in the fair. Business organizations including the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industries and handicraft associations have set up their stalls during the fair. 

The visitors are mostly attracted to the products of metal craft, materials of gold, silver, Pashmina, leather, and bamboo. "Along with these products, other exporting goods are also exhibited" informed vice president Shakya.

There are eight pavilions and around two hundred stalls in the exhibition which includes twenty stalls of the businessmen from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The fair will be conducted until December 2.
