KATHMANDU, Dec 26:  Hamas has accused Israel of delaying a ceasefire agreement by setting new conditions for its withdrawal from Gaza, including a prisoner exchange and the return of displaced Palestinians. According to Hamas, these additional demands have stalled the deal that was previously close to being reached.

The ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange are being seriously pursued in Doha, with mediation from Qatar and Egypt. Reports indicate that efforts led by Qatari, Egyptian, and American diplomats have shown some progress.
