KATHMANDU, March 20: Hamad International Airport (HIA), home and hub of Qatar Airways, has been ranked as sixth best airport in the world. Issuing a statement, Qatar Airways said that HIA has been ranked sixth in the 2017 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

HIA has also been able to become ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for the third consecutive year and ‘Best Staff Service in the Middle East’ for the second consecutive year, according to the statement. “We are delighted to congratulate our home and hub, HIA, on being ranked the sixth best airport in the world by Skytrax.
HIA has climbed to the sixth position in the world airports ranking, a move which clearly demonstrates our commitment to deliver highest standard of service to our passengers,” Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, said in the statement.
